The Department of Medical Sociology and Social Work currently has a faculty of 13 and their backgrounds are varied, including sociology, social work, and public health. Our faculty has diverse interests spanning the core areas of the discipline. For example, interest in each of the following substantive areas is shared by two or more faculty in our department: disability and chronic illness, social gerontology, social welfare, social work with children, health and social insurance. The Department devotes to sponsor lectures, organize conferences, and participate in panel discussions on subjects of wide interest relating to social welfare.
